will speak on the founding families in Pomquet with emphasis on the founding women and  using mitrochondrial DNA testing to establish maternal lines going back to the first women in Acadie

Stacey Doiron attended this genealogy talk in Pomquet by renowned Acadian genealogy scholar Stephen White (LeBlanc), He informed me the maternal side of my “Acadian” ancestors came from a mix of Mi’kmaq and Acadians. The Melong side included a lot of Mi’kmaq women throughout the generations.
    And that all Acadians are descended from 60 Acadian women (with French roots) and 15-20 Mi’kmaq women.. Hers is one of the sources Stephen referenced: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/mothersofacadia/default.aspx?section=mtresults
